At our September meeting, Eric brought in a treasure trove of sheet music for sale from the von Huene Workshop, and he kindly donated the proceeds to BRS. We are all grateful for this very kind gesture--- thank you, Eric.

New Weekly Offerings in Sarah Cantor's studio:

  • Beginner Baroque Flute Class - Open to people with previous wind instrument experience. While playing baroque chamber music we will work on historical fingerings, sound production, interpretation and ensemble skills. Monday 9:30am-10:30am
  • Broken Consort - Open to recorders, flutes, voices, and viols. Emphasis on music making as we explore exquisite Renaissance polyphony, bawdy songs and haunting Medieval melodies. Opportunity to play on a meantone renaissance consort and learn renaissance fingerings. Monday 7:00pm-8:30pm
  • Mixed Baroque Ensemble - Open to recorders, flutes, oboes, violins, voices, harpsichord, lutes, cellos and viols. Emphasis on ensemble playing, interpretation, and ornamentation. Pitch is A=415. Wednesday 12:00pm-1:30pm
  • The Big Guys - Low instrument ensemble. Open to singers, viols, and tenor, bass, great bass and contra bass recorders. Wednesday 1:30pm-2:30pm   
Renaissance Christmas Concert
