New players always welcome--- recorders, baroque flutes and strings, or early loud winds. If you are new to BRS, your first session is a free trial. See the BRS website for details about our ensembles, membership options, and directions.
Parking Information and Tips

Reminder: The BRS discount rate of $1.50 for the parking lot behind University Hall is available for a maximum of three hours. After three hours you will be charged an additional fee.

Parking is available on local streets, and resident permits are not required Sundays. Tip: If you do not find street parking, spots are often available on Frost Street. To get there, turn off Mass Ave onto Forest Street, and then take the second left onto Frost. Frost Street ends at Roseland Street, from which you can enter the Lesley building through the parking lot (and park if you did not get lucky!).

Fees: Full day: $100 non-members/$90 members
        Half day: $55 non-members/$50 members
        $10 full day/$5 half day discount for senior and student members of BRS
Location: Lesley University, University Hall, 1815 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge
 
We hope you will join us for our annual spring workshop for recorders, loud instruments, and strings. Loud instrument players can join a half-day afternoon loud workshop, as well as the morning workshops on recorders or viols.We look forward to seeing you at this very special event.

Helen Hooker, a UK professional recorder player and teacher, has published an eBook entitled Recorder Technique: A guide to the basics and beyond. This 40-page PDF eBook features useful information about all aspects of recorder playing, from the basics of posture and breathing to articulation, finger technique, effective practicing and repertoire suggestions.
